If you read my rant post yesterday about our fridge, you know I was not a happy camper.

The repair tech who came on Thursday was a very nice guy. He found out that the compressor was toast. He said he would order one & they would install it on the 29th. We decided to call the warranty company & complain. We had been without our fridge for one month & this was the 4th visit from the repair company. We were concerned after all attempts to fix the fridge that something else would go wrong again. Hubby made the call & within a few minutes we were approved to be reimbursed. We couldn't believe our good fortune.
Here is the letter that was emailed to us.
We are sending this message regarding your service contract with Lowe's. We were not able to repair your product as specified in your terms and conditions. Due to this, we will issue a reimbursement for the purchase price of the product. A Check in the amount of $2012.77 will be delivered to the below address within 7-10 business days.
They also told us to send an itemized list of the food we lost & the prices & they would send us a check.
We went to Sears after dinner & picked out this Whirlpool beauty that will be delivered on November 1st.
In the mean time we will use our little overflow fridge in the garage.
Sometimes the squeaky wheel does get the oil! We are very pleased with Lowe's warranty company. Even though we decided to buy at Sears this time, we will continue shopping at Lowe's.
I'm a happy camper again!

I am so glad this turned out for you Carol, Lowe's certainly showed integrity, I applaud them for this. Whirlpool makes really great appliances, I once worked for Sears service dept.. Your new fridge is awesome.
Enjoy your weekend.

Oh I do love a happy ending! Yes, it does pay to squeak once in a while.
I'm so glad everything was resolved and you had a happy ending! I love your new fridge!
Very nice. If momma ain't happy nobody's happy. Enjoy.
Well done! I went back to read your previous post, and this has been so frustrating. Your new Whirlpool looks like it will be wonderful! I guess every brand has their lemons. I could have a rant about our Whirlpool refrigerator. Grrrr. They just don't make things like they used to. (I'm sounding like my grandmother!) laurie
I'm happy this was resolved so well. About the whirlpool... We went with all new whirlpool appliances 13 years ago because they were made in Oklahoma . We've had to replace everything except the dryer - the refrigerator 3 times now. Good luck.
