H.A. Green

My Hubby brought home some beautiful hedge apples yesterday.
I love their cheerful green color.
They remind me of my grandma Ruby.
She put them in her closets to get rid of bugs.
I use them to decorate for Autumn.
Click on the picture below to see how I decorated with them last year.

I think those things are the perfect color, texture, and size. I know that I didn't know what they are...had no idea that they discourage bugs...have never seen them in my corner. I still must do research. They're a wonderful decorating accent that's for certain.

That was thoughtful of Bob to bring you an Autumn treat.

Naturally, they don't grow here. Sigh. And I want some! LOL

Hey, I remember those from last year. I hadn't heard of them before, and looked them up. Guess they are not a Utah thing :)
I still love them, and love the color.... gorgeous!
Lucky you !!

Happy Tuesday.

I love them too! They look great with the ribbon wrapped around them. There's a tree out by the pond behind our house. I can see it weighted down with horse apples. (that's what we call them)

I remember the hedge apples from growing up, them being used to keep the bugs away. I like the way you use them best.

I remember seeing these as a child when we lived in northern Alabama. They must have made an impression! I have never seen them in my part of Georgia, though.
