Goodwill Finds

Tuesday after having lunch with my son I decided to swing by the Goodwill store near my house.
I don't go to Goodwill very often, but when I do, I have high hopes of finding some great deals in the housewares section.  My blog friends, Marty & Debbie always find some gems when they go GW shopping.  I think their stores must be bigger than those in the Tulsa area.
I did find a couple of things that made it into my shopping cart.
This little $3.00 kitchen crock is a great addition for my utensil storage.
This $1.99 vintage cut glass dish immediately caught my eye.
I have one just like it that belonged to my Grandma Ruby.
I use it on my bathroom vanity.
Now Hubby has one on his side.
We're Twinkies!

Do you shop Goodwill?  What day do think is the best time shop?

I'm linking with . . .

Haha....Twinkies. He'd love that, I'm sure. Great finds. I've been avoiding Goodwill, except for the day Jonathan had his driver's test and that's where Chelsea and I waited for him. I always end up bringing stuff home.

I love shopping at our goodwill. Our local store gives 25% off to seniors on Tuesday, so that's our favorite day to stop by.

But I can't believe you found a glass tray to match one you already had. Perfect! And I like how you used them in the bathroom.

Always fun seeing what things God puts in our paths as bargains.

I keep trying to shop at Goodwill and rarely find anything. I'm very impressed with your finds and I like the matching piece, too, because I know that your husband enjoys being a Twinkie. =D

Love that crockery, Carol...and how fun that you found a matching tray! As for me...it's just a matter of looking consistently. I go away empty-handed many times. Hugs...Debbie

Both things are nice items that are useful. As the old saying goes...one man's junk is another man's treasure. ; )

I like a good trek to a thrift shop too - and I often come home with a good crock or other pottery. Oh lovely that you and hubby now have matching trays.
