Shopping Fun In MO

Hubby & I made it home yesterday afternoon from our fun time in Missouri.

Monday the sisters went shopping & Bob & Mike went to Independence to visit
the Harry S. Truman, Library And Museum.

Our first stop was the Cockrell Mercantile Company outside of Lee's Summit, MO.
Click on the red link to see their website.
cockrell Mercantile Co.
Oh . . . MY . . . GOODNESS!
I was in heaven!

There are five unique shops in a quaint country setting.
The first building we shopped in was the Mercantile.
It is overflowing with glassware, linens, gourmet foods, gadgets etc.
When you come through the front door you are given a cup
of coffee or tea.
napkins * place mats * etc
Le Creuset
I could have spent major bucks in this section!
I want one of those large Dutch oven pots.
So many choices in the gadget section!
Dishes of every shape, color & size!
This is my favorite purchase from the Mercantile.
I have wanted one of these for a long time.
I love the little bird on top!

We enjoyed a picnic lunch in the yard.
The weather was perfect!

The next cottage we shopped was the Cockrell Cottage.
You can find home decor, children's gifts & other unique gifts here.
This is the cottage attendant, Shirley.
Such a sweet lady!
Susan knows her well because she shops there often.
She gave me this cute little girl & her turtle
when we arrived at her house on Saturday.
Yep, it came from the Cottage.
Here's Shirley wrapping up one of my purchases.
I'll show you what it is soon in another post.

Next we visited the Morton House.
Morton House
It features bakeware & every imaginable item for the baker.

Susan & Mary looked around in the Fiesta House
while I gave my aching feet a rest.
They carry the largest selection of Fiestaware in the Midwest.
beautiful fiestaware with colors and overruns. We have the biggest inventory on our shelves

Before we left we looked around in the Cockrell Annex.
It's full of garden accessories and treasures.
Mary found the perfect coffee cup for her caffeine addiction.
Too bad it won't fit in her suitcase!

Come back tomorrow to see where we shopped before we met the guys for dinner.

I love it, I love it, I love it. It was the perfect day. Great memory maker. I think Mary really does drink that much coffee. ; )

That looks like a great destination for some serious shopping! I love all the pretty colors! I think I would of liked to have visited the Truman library and museum. I love American history. What a nice trip you are having!

HI Carol! OH, I wanna go to that shop! Look at all of the stuff! If I were rich, I could break the bank in there! ;)
I just hate all the Blogger problems. Why can't they just leave us alone?
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
