Random Monday Memories #14 . . .

I recently joined a Facebook group for my high school.
It has been fun reconecting with old friends from my past.
We're sharing our memories of our little hometown.
One friend is posting pictures she's taking of different places
around town.

Our high school was torn down many years ago.
What a wonderful old building.

Last year my class gathered to celebrate our 40th reunion.
Can't believe it has been 41 years since I graduated.

All the memories that everyone has been sharing on
Facebook made me start thinking about my yearbooks.

I was excited to find this picture on the internet!

Vivacity
Full of animation and spirit
 lively. . .

We always received our yearbook a few weeks
before school ended, which gave us plenty
of time to sign each other's book.
It's so entertaining to read what people wrote
in my books.

Reflecting on those years and the memories
gives me such a warm feeling.
It was an innocent time.
Life in my hometown was simple and slow paced.

What memories do you have of your high school years?

Blogger Is Back . . .

As most of you know Blogger was down
for about 24 hours.
How weird!
Can't believe how much I missed the
bloggy world.
My Wednesday post finally magically reappeared after I had
gone to the trouble to recreate it.

Anyway, I'm glad everything is back to normal.
Hopefully!
I'll keep my fingers crossed. . .

Mother's Day Joy . . .

Mother's Day was filled with lots of joy.
I wanted to get some cute pictures of me with Ethan & Emma.

Getting Emma to pose was easy . . .

however, Ethan was not in the mood!
So funny!

Hope your Mother's Day was full of joy!

The Simple Woman's Daybook . . .

Outside my window . . .
It's grey and cloudy.

I am thinking . . .
and praying for the flood victims across the country.

I am thankful . . .
for the wonderful Mother's Day I had with my family.

From the kitchen . . .
once again I'm wracking my brain to decide what I'll fix for dinner.  Possibly fish & stir fried veggies.

I am wearing . . .
brown crop pants, rose t-shirt, denim ballet flats.

I am creating . . .
newpaper roses for a wreath.

I am going . . .
to take care of Ethan this morning while his Mommy takes Emma to the doctor for a well check up.

I am hoping . . .
my hubby feels better today.  He's been fighting a stomach bug.  Ugh!

I am hearing . . .
my washing machine churning away.

Around the house . . .
I'm noticing that the dust bunnies are playing on the hardwood floors.

A few plans for the rest of the week . . .
collect unwanted items from closets and drawers for the kids' garage sale on Saturday.

Hope your day is going well, enjoy!

Let Freedom Ring . . .

May 1st Prayer...
Now I lay me down to sleep...one less terrorist this world does keep...with all my heart I give my thanks...to those in uniform regardless of ranks...you serve our country and serve it well...with humble hearts your stories tell...so as I rest my weary eyes...while freedom rings our flag still flies...you give your all, do what you must...with God we live and God we trust....Amen!

How Lovely . . .

I don't regret waking up super early
to watch the royal wedding.
I was a witness to history.
I love history whether it is
from the past or the present.
Today, I was able to see some happy history.
A little break from all the sad, scary,
and heartbreaking news we see every day.

The dress was elegant,stylish,
and vintage traditional.

I have to admit I was a little nervous
about the happy couple riding
in the open carriage.
With all those people watching I was afraid
something would go wrong.

The kiss.
I love how the flower girl is watching.

After the balcony appearance I took a nap.
Now back to reality.
It is time to clean some toilets.

Royal Wedding Anticipation . . .

Yes, it's true . . .
I have 'Royal Wedding' fever!
I plan on watching all the festivities live
 early Friday morning.
I remember watching Charles & Diana's
wedding 30 years ago while I
was feeding my newborn son.

Here's something fun to do before the big event.
I saw this on Facebook.
In honor of the big wedding on Friday, use your royal wedding guest name. Start with either Lord or Lady. Your first name is one of your grandparents' names. Your surname is the name of your first pet, double-barreled with the name of the street you grew up on.

My royal name is . . .
Lady Ruby Snoopy Cherry

Hope you'll leave a comment revealing your royal name
and if you have plans for watching William & Kate
tie the knot.

Random Monday Memories #13 . . .

Today's post isn't about memories from the past,
but making new memories.

Easter was a stormy, cool, and wet day.
The lightning & thunder started before daylight
and continued all day & night!

We started a new Easter tradition.
I baked a bunny cake.
My grandma Ruby liked to make rabbit cakes for Easter.
I think she would be pleased that I'm carrying on her tradition.
It turned out okay and I learned a lot from this first attempt.
I couldn't find skinny black licorice so I used mini chocolate chips
for the whiskers.

Ethan liked the cake, but didn't like getting the icing on his hands.
It was so funny!

Weekly Words To Live By #47 . . .

~ Happy Easter ~

Because He Lives

God sent His son, they called Him Jesus
He came to love, heal, and forgive.
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives.

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.
Because He lives, All fear is gone.
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living just because He lives.

that bloom on Oklahoma roadsides.
