Simple & Symmetrical . . .

I decided to decorate the mantel with a simple symmetrical look.

These vintage skiers belonged to my Grandma Ruby.

I was always fascinated by them when I was a child.

I wish I knew where & when she bought them.
There are no marks on the bottom.

Always loved the ski people. She told me where she got them, but I can't recall. Maybe my memory will turn that info lose one day.

Just right for winter and cute, too!

Have you ever done any research on the skiers? They are so vintage. I'll do some searching online myself.

She might have got them on her travels to Alaska or Canada. How far back did she have them?

I love your decorations. I haven't inherited very many of my Grandma's collectables but I cherish the one's I do have. She loved chickens and birds. I'm a new follower from Katherine's Corner. I hope you have a great weekend. Doylene

Hi! I'm traveling with Liz on Time Travel Thursdays. Your two side-by-side icons opposing one another (on her links)is interesting. That's what drew my attention here. The mystery in the hand-me-down knick knacks is neat, don't you think? Will always make you wonder, always make you think about them in two precious ways. Enjoyed thinking about it along with you! Had to click on the 2nd icon (link) on Liz's links. So, here I am again. Found you are on Pinterest. I just started that addiction last night. Uh oh. Also, gives me a chance to say nice background on your blog. Jenn

Those little skiers are adorable! I have never seen any like them, though if I do, I will definitely take note.

They are adorable! Cute mantel. Mine just got changed after Christmas! Sometimes E-bay is a good source for information. You can try various search terms and see if something pops up!

Your mantel looks great. Those little figures remind me of some my mom-in-law has - hers are children, not skiers - but they aren't marked either. I am struggling with redoing my mantel - maybe I need to stick with simple and symmetrical too.

How fun that your little skiers have pleasant memories attached. It's always a joy to decorate with items that hold special meaning to us, isn't it? By the way, I love the image you've used as your blog banner. ;)

Thanks for linking to Time Travel Thursday. Hope to see you again this week.

Blessings,
