Collections In The Dining Room

I've been piddling around in the dining room.
I thought I would use a mix of this 'n that to give the room a look & feel of an English or Irish dining room.

I started by hanging an old lace table cloth for
 a window treatment.
No sew!
I just used some ribbon to tie it up.

Next, I placed some pitchers & plates on the window ledge.

The dining table . . .
a mix of items collected through the years.
my Mother's teacups

the side table
An old teapot
like the one my Mother used for years.
Mother's flatware & candle wick salt & pepper set.

Come back tomorrow for . . .

I'm linking with . . .

The look you have created does give the feel of a comfy, quaint tea room. The stack of cups and saucers is cleaver. You will have to have a tea party for Ethan and Emma, substitute with juice. ; )

I think maybe you should come to my house when I finish my kitchen and decorate it for spring. You're good!

Carol, How lovely . . . I hope you and your grandchildren have lots of tea parties. My photo is Natalie and I dressed up for one of her famous tea parties. I bought a quaint tea set in a wicker basket for her when she was a baby and we always use it. We have had propabably 20 guests attending (stuffed bears, dogs, cats, etc). Sometimes we would read a book, but always had such a wonderful time. She is getting older now and they are few and far between. Enjoy . . .

Oh, I love the curtain idea and so beautiful!! Love, Love, Love the tea cups and saucers! I love collecting tea pots and cups and saucers. I have the teacup and saucer that my grandmother drank tea from when she was 5. It is my treasure!
