Three Cheers For The Red White & Blue . . .

Today is Flag Day. . .

In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation that
officially established June 14 as Flag Day;
in August 1949, National Flag Day
was established by an Act of Congress.

Hope we see a lot more flags flying today! Our flag is a beautiful symbol of freedom, and spirit, and sacrifice and especially love of God and country. Happy flag day to you !!

I always get goosebumps when I see Old Glory dancing in the wind.

Thank you so much for reminding me. I would have forgotten. I remember that it was always a big deal in grade school but sadly not too many people remember it now.

Our flag is out and I have a Christmas tree out on the screened-in porch decorated with the red, white,and blue. I'll leave them up all summer.

Our little cabin came with a flag pole on the lawn and I still have not gotten one for it---shame on me! And God bless America!
