Kids Draw The Darndest Things . . .

I can't resist sharing this cute little story
I received in an e-mail from my sister~in~law, Yvonne!
As a retired elementary teacher it
really tickled my funny bone!
Why children's homework should be checked
before it's turned in . . .

A first grade girl handed in this drawing for her homework assignment. The teacher graded it and the child brought it home. She returned to school the next day with the following note:

Dear Ms. Davis,

I want to be perfectly clear on my child's homework illustration. It is NOT of me on a dance pole on a stage in a strip joint surrounded by male customers with money. I work at Home Depot and had commented to my daughter how much money we made in the recent snowstorm. This drawing is of me selling a shovel.

Sincerely, Mrs. Harrington

That is so cute! I was not thinking shovel, when I first looked at it! I will show that to my daughter, who is student teaching in a second grade class.

That is hilarious! To tell you the truth my mind didn't go to the gutter first. My first thought was that she was a bank teller and that was a counter she was standing behind! Then my mind drifted and I thought it was dancer too:)

That is hilarious!! Funnier still I didn't see it as a stripper on a pole, but rather a woman on a soapbox about a good cause and a great fundraiser. Not even close to the snowshovel in Home Depot.
