School's Out . . .

Most of the schools in Oklahoma are closed for summer vacation.
Almost all the public schools in Oklahoma begin classes during the hottest days of August, which means they close school before the last day of May. I know many states start class after Labor Day & they dismiss in June.
Do you remember the excitement you felt when you were a kid during the last few days of school? The feeling of freedom you felt when you walked out the front door of the school was such joy!

So, to all you parents & grandparents who take care of the kiddos during the summer vacation, I hope you have a list of fun activities to keep everyone busy!

School's Out For Summer!

I'm not an Alice Cooper fan, but I couldn't resist using this song!

I remember that song! Does that reveal my age too much? LOL! I've been looking for fun summer camps for my stepson - I'm determined to get him into outdoor activities and away from all those computer games.

Oh my ~ I loved those last few days of school! We did so many special things because all the regular stuff was done! One of my favorite things was that we got to eat our lunch on the playground the last week of school and we had games & ice cream & fun!
Thanks for taking me back.....

OH Carol, I remember as a teacher, how I felt in June. Not an Alice Cooper fan, but song was appropriate.

I don't think I could go back today and teach, I do a little sub (rarley).

The end of May seems a bit early but I know the kids aren't complaining! My little guy finishes next week which is about 2 weeks earlier than when I was a kid and he's so excited for summer, it brings me back to my own summer break memories. :)
