Fresh Squeezed Lemonade

Here's an alternative to soft drinks to cool you down during a hot summer day.
Fresh Squeezed Lemonade

I made this Pinterest recipe for our 4th of July celebration.

Ingredients
2 cups sugar
1 cup hot water
2 cups fresh lemon juice
1 gallon cold water
1 tablespoon lemon zest
1 lemon, sliced
Mint sprig garnish (optional)
Instructions
Add sugar to a gallon pitcher and pour hot water over sugar, stirring to dissolve.
Add fresh lemon juice, cold water and lemon zest.
Stir until well-combined.
Serve over ice.
Add lemon slices and a mint sprig to each glass.
Keep refrigerated
I squeezed the lemons in this antique juicer that belonged to my Grandma Ruby.
My son doesn't drink soft drinks anymore, but really enjoys lemonade.
He said this recipe tasted great.
I didn't try any because of the sugar.
I need to try making a pitcher with Splenda.
Can you tell which lemons are faux & real?

Have a wonderful Monday!

Nothing more perfect on a summer's day than a cool, refreshing glass of lemonade!!
I'll have to give that recipe a try... let me know how it turns out with the artificial sweetener too.

Loved your comment about your community saving the drive-in!!
How wonderful!!

Let me know when you go, and how you like it .

Made my mouth water reading this. Just came in from doing yard work and this would really hit the spot. I think the real lemons are outside the bowl the faux ones are in the bowl.

Hi, This lemonade looks so good but I want to hear how it tastes with Splenda-just sounds like too much sugar(although I know it would taste so good).
Have a great evening, and I think the fake lemons are outside the bowl.
Hugs, Noreen

Looks like a great lemonade recipe, Carol, we drink a lot of lemonade here in the summer. I also have an antique lemon squeezer, though I bought mine at a antique-mall. I couldn't tell the faux from the real ones! Enjoy your week.
Hugs,
Sue

Hi Carol!

Lemonade is always a crowd pleaser in the summer. We had ginormous lemons on our northern California tree. We made our lemonade with Truvia and it was wonderful!

Thanks for sharing this at my party!

Your lemonade sounds so cooling on a hot day! Certainly better than the powered mixes served today as a convenience.
