Snail Mail Surprise

I was thrilled to receive a snail mail surprise package today.  Sis Sue sent me early birthday gifts.
The box was filled with all kinds of goodies.  She knows me well.
I can't wait to read this vintage book, published in 1947.
Isn't this little doll sweet?  She is a Madame Alexander doll made for McDonald's in 2003.
I absolutely love the vintage school picture!
Thank you Sis Sue!  You made me smile!

Cute Scarecrows

Yesterday, I found a couple of cute scarecrows at $ Tree.
This little guy has a new home on the mantel.
I changed the book stack greeting.
His brother is hanging out in Nana & Papaw's pumpkin patch.

It's going to be another beautiful day here in Oklahoma.  Hope you have a terrific Thursday!

Kitchen Fall Tablescape

I pulled together a little bit of this & that to make a fall tablescape on the kitchen table.
I found this leaf tablecloth at a neighbor's garage sale on Saturday for $2.00.
Another new find are this pretty leaf bowls from TJ Maxx.  The pattern is Autumn Celebration from 222 Fifth.
The other elements have been collected through the years.
napkins from Sis Sue
 my mother's flatware
green plates from Gorman's
leaf plates from Wal Mart
candle from Sis Sue
candle wreath, Old Time Pottery
They closed their store a few years back.  It was about 5 miles from my house.  Sure do miss them.
I'm so happy you came by for a visit.  Hope you like my fall tablescape.

H.A. Green

My Hubby brought home some beautiful hedge apples yesterday.
I love their cheerful green color.
They remind me of my grandma Ruby.
She put them in her closets to get rid of bugs.
I use them to decorate for Autumn.
Click on the picture below to see how I decorated with them last year.

Our little indoor pumpkin patch is almost finished, just need to add a few more little pumpkins.  The next time the grandkids visit they'll make some funny face pumpkins.
Sorry about the poor quality of some of this pics, I'm sill trying to learn how to take pictures with my phone.
Kari & I made the trick or treat garland.  You can find it here.
Thank you for stopping by today!  Hope your new week is off to a great start.

Our Own Pumpkin Patch

We're getting ready to create our own pumpkin patch in the piano room.
We did a little shopping at $ Tree on Wednesday.
The grandkids had fun picking out Halloween Bling for our patch.
We'll be decorating our pumpkin patch over the weekend.
Hope you will come back Monday to see what we created.

Shopping Overload

After lunch I made a trip to browse & buy at Hobby Lobby.  Oh, my GOODNESS!  So much eye candy!  Cute Halloween items.  Wonderful Thanksgiving stuff.  The Christmas bling was overwhelming!  It may be my imagination, but I think there is more Christmas than I've seen before at Hob Lob.
Since I was so overwhelmed I didn't buy much.  In fact, I just bought 1 item.
I'm a big spender!  40% off, a total of $1.29.

Happy Thursday everyone!

October Poem

I fell in love with this poem when I saw it on Pinterest.
I knew I had to print it & frame it for October.

Listen! The wind is rising,
and the air is wild with leaves,
We have had our summer evenings.
Now for October eves!

BOO-tiful Additions

Happy 1st day of October!
Time for me to start adding 'Halloween Bling' to the fall decor. I don't do scary Halloween.  I like fun & whimsical Halloween decorations.
This boo-tiful pumpkin was made by my grandma Ruby.
I made a boo banner to hang under the boo pumpkin.
You can find this free printable alphabet -----> here.

More 'Halloween Bling' is coming soon.
