Merry Christmas Mantel

I changed the look of our mantel for Christmas 2012.

Here's the 2011 mantel.  I usually decorate with the same thing on both ends.

I'm waiting until Christmas Eve to hang the stockings.

Giant Santa

Meet our 8 foot Santa.

When I saw this inflatable Santa in the Big Lots weekly flyer I knew we had to buy one for our front yard.

So, if you're in our neck of the woods come by & have your picture taken with our giant Santa.

Have you written your letter to Santa?
Do you know who's singing this song?

Christmas PJs

The grandkids looked so cute in their PJs last night.

It was the perfect photo op in front of our Christmas tree.

Oh, Come, Let Us Adore Him

Oh, come, all ye faithful,

Joyful and triumphant!

Oh, come ye, oh, come ye to Bethlehem;

Come and behold him

Born the king of angels:

Oh, come, let us adore him,

Oh, come, let us adore him,

Oh, come, let us adore him,

Christ the Lord.

 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven,

the shepherds said to one another,

 "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened,

 which the Lord has told us about."

Some Of My Favorites

I think my favorite Christmas movie is "White Christmas".

I love musicals.  As you know the songs in this show are great.

Another favorite . . .

And who could forget this classic . . .

Here's my vignette of the flag pole scene from

 "A Christmas Story".

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!

Misty Cloudy Day

Looks are deceiving . . .

When I look out my windows today it looks cold.  It's foggy & cloudy.

It's not cold, it's humid.

The weather is getting ready to change over the weekend.

Cold will settle in on Sunday.

I'm ready for cold weather.  It puts me in a Christmas mood.

Here's a litttle Michael Buble song to help celebrate the season.

 A few Christmasy touches around the house.

Hope today is the start of a wonderful weekend for you!

Christmas Decorating

I haven't much been in the mood for decorating, but we're moving forward.

Here's Hubby replacing light bulbs on one of our trees.

How do you like his flashlight?

He replaced over 125 bulbs.

I think it would have been easier to add a new string of lights!

Santa is cheering us up with his happy face.

A Pinterest idea jar project with Epsom salt & battery candle.

One of the dining room trees.

Our 2 big trees are still naked.

Maybe a few of Santa's elves will decorate them tonight while we're sleeping.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Thank You

Your kind comments here on my blog & on Facebook mean so much to us.

Knowing that others are thinking about us & lifting us up in prayer is so comforting.

In Memory

Bob's oldest sister, Yvonne, passed away last night.

Your prayers are appreciated.

Kid Friendly Nativity

I'm setting up some kid friendly Nativities in the entry hall this year.

Meet the Lizzie High Nativity.

They are kid friendly because they're made of wood.

I used this in my classroom when we read the classic children's book,

"The Best Christmas Pageant Ever".

Joyous Season

 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son,

 that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16
~~~~~
In Bethlehem, God gave to us
The source of Christmas joy;
A star shown on a miracle:
The virgin birth of a boy.
He was born both God and man,
A Savior for us all,
The way to get to our heavenly home,
If we just heed His call.
So as we shop and spend and wrap
And enjoy the Christmas season,
Let's keep in mind the sacred truth:
Jesus is the reason.
Welcome December
 It's very windy & warm here in NE Oklahoma today.  In fact, it doesn't feel at all like December.
As windy as it is I may get lucky & find some branches lying on the ground to make these ideas from Pinterest.
