Friday Show & Tell

A few weeks ago Hubby & I cleaned & organized the attic.

I found a forgotten treasure from my past.

I had totally forgotten about this sweatshirt.

It shows the building where I attended high school.

1922-1976

I bought this souvenir brick back in the 80s.

What a beautiful building!

Wonderful memories were made here.

So sad it was demolished.

Only an empty lot now.

I also found a tub filled with newspaper clippings, programs,

 & other remnants from those years.

I'll be sorting through those memories soon.

Rabbits Are Multiplying

The rabbit population is exploding around our house!

Two more cuties showed up on the dining room table.

Last Monday

I can't believe today is the last Monday of March!

This month has whizzed by!

I'm just getting started with Easter bling decorating.

they came over to play yesterday evening.

Ethan loves playing with his new skateboard man that 

his Mommy bought at a garage sale for 25 cents.

While Papaw & Ethan went to the park with the wagon,

Emma & I played together in the kitchen.

Who needs toys when you can play with plastic bowls?

Shopping Snapshots

T*A*R*G*E*T

I love shopping at Target!

Target is within walking distance from our house, 

but we'd never take that risk because there is no sidewalk.  

I miss the good old days growing up in my hometown and walking to shop downtown.

Plenty of sidewalks, but that's another story for another day.

Hello Sunshine

The sun is finally shining!

We received almost 6 inches of rain this week.

It is so nice to see & feel the warm sun.

Here are a few sunny pictures taken this afternoon.

 I enjoyed a day off from my spring cleaning in the office yesterday.

The grandkids & their cousin came over to play.

Fun!

Today I'm back to sorting, purging & organizing.

I'm Impressed

My new Pioneer Woman cookbook arrived on Monday.

This sticker on the title page is a nice touch.

I have not read all the pages yet, but I'm impressed & ready to try some new recipes.

Being the "carbaholic" that I am, I was drawn to this recipe . . .

Buttered Rosemary Rolls

They're made with frozen dinner rolls.

Can't wait to try this & many more recipes!

Spring Cleaning In The Office

Today is day 6 of spring cleaning in our home office.

Purging drawers, closet & files.

These pictures were taken this morning.

After you see them you'll probably think I haven't been working very hard.

Trust me, I have been working!

Sorted sacks & stacks.

Sacks for the trash & shredding company.

The desk drawers are completely finished.

The filing cabinet is almost purged.

When I was going through my teacher file I found my 1st 

teacher's contract from 1974-75 school year.

$6.700, $558.33 a month.

Amazing!

The office closet is almost finished.

Little by little this massive spring cleaning project is moving along nicely.

Maybe I'll be finished by Easter! 

Fingers crossed . . . 

Rain, Rain & More Rain

The rain started yesterday morning & has not stopped.

We desperately need rain, but not all at once.

 Not long after the rain started it seemed as if the trees leafed out instantly.

I love hearing the rain on the roof & the sound of the gutters.

In the mean time, my spring cleaning continues.

Today marks the 5th day of purging & organizing the upstairs office.

Grey Matter Exercise

"Use it or lose it."

I'm sure you've heard that expression.

Hubby & I enjoy watching Wheel of Fortune.

I call it exercise for the brain.

My son helped me download a fun game on my iPhone.

I've been having a lot of fun playing this game with one of my former students.

Christina & her husband, David, were both students of mine in the 70s.

This is their Christmas card picture.

They have the cutest son, Davey.  What a smart 4 year old!  

I enjoy reading her blog, Cpeezers at Home & being friends on Facebook.

She has been challenging my grey matter to daily exercise on Word With Friends.

I'm learning a whole new vocabulary.
