Old Glory Day . . .

Here's a history lesson about Flag Day.

In the United States, Flag Day is celebrated on June 14. It commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States, which happened that day by resolution of the Second Continental Congress in 1777.In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation that officially established June 14 as Flag Day; in August 1949, National Flag Day was established by an Act of Congress.Flag Day is not an official federal holiday, though on June 14, 1937, Pennsylvania became the first (and only) U.S. state to celebrate Flag Day as a state holiday.

My Country 'Tis Of Thee

What if Betsy Ross had said,
"I'm just too busy to take on another sewing project."

I love to see the flag displayed in front of homes.

Patriotic Pie

It almost looks too pretty to eat!

That is a wonderful tribute to our American Flag - so beautiful and regal.

My one and only brother's birthday is June 14, so I always remember the significance of that day. Plus, my hubby is a retired Air Force veteran. We LOVE our flag!

I've not even looked at a calendar in a week.
I had no idea it was Flag Day until our song leader at church mentioned it. We sang a patriotic song and said the Pledge of Allegiance.

As soon as my hubby got home from church he put our flag out. I love to see flags hanging outside of homes too.

I agree....that pie is too pretty to eat!

Thanks for praying for our youth group this past week. It was a great week!
