New Additions In The Kitchen

My sisters showered me with so many gifts during the 5 days they were here I felt spoiled!
Susan gave me some cute dish towels . . .
a pinch of this . . .
a dash of that . . .
also a new owl for my kitchen window ledge . . .
the wise gardener

When we visited our hometown we shopped in this neat store.
I found this cute rooster lamp that was perfect for my kitchen desk.
Sister, Mary, snatched it out of my hand & insisted on buying it for me.

See, I told you they spoiled me!

The Party

The last celebration for my birthday was a family get together.
Our dinner was grilled hamburgers & hot dogs with all the fixings.
gifts, cake & cupcakes
The cake was decorated like a sunflower.
The dining room was decorated with fall decor.
The grandkids enjoyed the balloons.
We played 'pin the nose on the pumpkin' . . .
I received some nice gifts . . .
a Target gift card . . .
new dish towels & an orange checked spatula to match . . .
my new orange Le Creuset cooking pot.
Of course, the best gift of all was having everyone together!
Thank you dear family for making my birthday so special!
I love you all so much!

Weekly Words To Live By #120

Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me,
or seen in me-put it into practice.
And the God of peace will be with you.

The Foodie Places We Enjoyed

The five days my sister were here we did eat at home a lot, but we also enjoyed dining out at some great places.
Saturday night we ate at Villa Ravenna, located in The Farm.
Good food & great atmosphere!

Sunday morning we experienced a wonderful brunch at La Villa Restaurant in the Philbrook Museum.
What a gorgeous place!
The food was delicious!
The Philbrook is so breathtaking!
Our time at Philbrook was amazing!

Master Bedroom Transformation

The last space that our sister design team redecorated was the master bedroom.
After we were finished we realized we didn't take a before picture.
Trust me, this room was way overdue for a redo!
The sheers I bought at Target were the perfect color & texture, but the grommets had to go.
Susan hemmed the edges to make them the perfect length.
Once again we used tablecloths from Target to make the curtains.
The colors, gold & greenish blue, are perfect for a restful feeling in the space.
We reused the curtain rod from the kitchen window & added burnished gold rings.
No sewing was needed, we just puddled the extra length.
We rearranged the bed & side tables.
The room looks much larger now.
The girls surprised me with this picture I had admired at Target.
Sorry you can't see the pretty landscape.
The colors go so well with everything.
Another surprise was this fabulous mirror from Target.
A smaller tablecloth was used for the door.
The tieback is two buttoned pieces that came on each tablecloth.
It was cut to fit & a casing was sewn for the rod.

We used items I already had to decorate the walls and side tables.
We recovered my cedar chest with some letter fabric we found at Hobby Lobby.
I just love the new look of my master bedroom.
If my sisters had stayed around for few more days we probably would have redone every room in the house.
We had a blast working together.
