In case you were wondering . . .

I only ate one teeny, tiny bite of the apple pie I baked the other day.

Hubby enjoyed eating the entire pie!

I'm already thinking about what kind of plants I want to put in this basket for spring & summer.

My little reader elf is waiting for some color to appear.

I bought these items at Dollar Tree yesterday.

We're having a Super Bowl get together so I well do a little decorating for that before the Valentine's Day  bling goes up next week.

I ordered this sweet little chocolate candle on Friday & received it Monday.

The creator of this & other hand poured soy candles is my bloggy friend, Becky @ Hospitality Lane.

Late afternoon on Friday I noticed she posted 2 of these chocolate heart candles on Facebook.

The moment I saw it I knew I had to order one.

I just checked Facebook & it looks like she has one left.

I'm tempted to buy another one.

It smells chocolaty & divine.

A very good substitute for eating chocolates.

I bought a bag of avocados at Sam's on Saturday.

I'm experimenting with different avocado recipes.

Yesterday I made a grilled avocado, cheddar & salsa sandwich for lunch.

 Sorry, no picture.

I didn't follow a recipe, but I was inspired by this recipe on Pinterest.

Today I'm using this idea, but I'm going to make it in the oven instead of the grill.

Unseasonable

Our Oklahoma weather is so weird!

It's like a roller coaster ride.

I checked some records on high temperatures in January from 1938 to 2012.

For 42 years during that time span,  the high temp for the month of January was at least 70.

Today is spring like.

Windy & humid with a possibility of thunderstorms.

I know I keep harping on the subject of  how much I like snow.

Let it snow, please!

I believe we'll get snow again.

Maybe not this winter, but sometime.

I promise not to mention snow again until it actually snows!

Lazy Saturday

Hello, friends!

Hubby & I enjoyed breakfast at Savoy this morning.

We delivered some of their delicious cinnamon rolls to a friend.

Then we shopped at Sam's, which always wears me out.

Now, I'm relaxing, checking out blogs & Pinterest.

Yes, I'm lazy today.

The crumbs I saw under the kitchen table during lunch will have to wait.

Remembering a classmate who passed away yesterday.

Too young.

Wish my sisters lived close so we could shop & have lunch.

Miss them.

Cold yesterday, much warmer today, 75 on Monday.

Not a fan.

Can't wait for Hubby to eat all the apple pie.

Too tempting.

Making a list in my head of things to accomplish  today.

Short list.

Shh, Don't Tell Ree

Don't tell Ree that my attempt to make her

'Perfect Pie Crust'  was an epic fail.

Here is the picture from her blog showing her rolling out the dough.

Lovely isn't it?  Well, my dough was crumbly & a mess after I tried to roll it out.

It was so bad I didn't even take a picture.

I have made the crust for her 'Flat Apple Pie' & it was fairly successful.

Oh, I forgot to tell you I only had 1 cup of shortening & the recipe calls for 1 1/2 cups.

I added a 1/2 cup of cubed, cold butter hoping that would work.

I ended up smashing the pieces of dough into the pie plate.  

After adding the apples I laid the dough pieces on top.

The finished pie, not too bad.

Hubby ate a big piece after dinner last night.

He said it was very good.

I have to take him at his word because I can't eat any.

I'm trying to get my blood sugar numbers under control.

Ugh!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm surprised by my willpower.

The letter pendants were small so I added a larger pendant made with scrapbook paper.

I also added some snowflakes that I bought at Target before Christmas.

No snow or rain is in sight, but I'm still hoping for a little snow before spring arrives.
