Checked out the inventory at Sam's, but didn't

see exactly what we think we want.

Fun With Grandkids

There's nothing more fun than watching your grandkids play, laugh and enjoy life.

Here's some of the fun we had with Ethan & Emma Thursday evening.

The baby gate no longer keeps Ethan from playing on the stairs.

over & over again, until we said let's do something else.

Next, crawling races in the hall . . .

We also ate dinner, read about 100 books, built houses with building blocks,changed several diapers, etc. etc.

We were tired when Mommy & Daddy picked them up, 

but that's okay.  We always love spending precious time with our grandkids.

I Cabbaged On To These

After leaving the Cockrell Mercantile Co. on Monday, we continued shopping for treasures in Greenwood, MO.

Our first stop was the

Greenwood Antiques Mall

This mall is full of beautiful treasures.

It's clean & well organized.

A treasure hunter's dream.

I forgot to take a picture of the front of the mall.

This is a picture I found on the internet of one of the booths.

When we walked in the door one of the first things I 

saw was what I ended up buying after looking through 

many wonderful booths of eye candy.

I have always wanted to own some green 

cabbage leaf pottery from Portugal.

I found a bargain.

12 pieces of Bordallo Pinheiro Pottery

for $45.00!

After checking prices on the internet

I estimate these pieces would cost over $250.00

 if purchased on line.

I can't wait to use them!

Our next stop was . . .

As Time Goes By.

Lots of awesome treasures.

I didn't buy a thing, but Susan bought a great white McCoy plant pot for $25.00.

It looks great with the 2 McCoy turquoise pots that belonged to Grandma Ruby.

We ended our shopping trip & meet the guys in Lees Summit for a yummy Mexican dinner at Jose Peppers.

Shopping Fun In MO

Hubby & I made it home yesterday afternoon from our fun time in Missouri.

Monday the sisters went shopping & Bob & Mike went to Independence to visit

the Harry S. Truman, Library And Museum.

Our first stop was the Cockrell Mercantile Company outside of Lee's Summit, MO.

I was in heaven!

There are five unique shops in a quaint country setting.

The first building we shopped in was the Mercantile.

It is overflowing with glassware, linens, gourmet foods, gadgets etc.

When you come through the front door you are given a cup 

of coffee or tea.

napkins * place mats * etc

Le Creuset 

I could have spent major bucks in this section!

I want one of those large Dutch oven pots.

So many choices in the gadget section!

Dishes of every shape, color & size!

This is my favorite purchase from the Mercantile.

I have wanted one of these for a long time.

I love the little bird on top!

We enjoyed a picnic lunch in the yard.

The weather was perfect!

The next cottage we shopped was the Cockrell Cottage.

This is the cottage attendant, Shirley.

Such a sweet lady!

Susan knows her well because she shops there often.

She gave me this cute little girl & her turtle 

when we arrived at her house on Saturday.

Yep, it came from the Cottage.

Next we visited the Morton House.

It features bakeware & every imaginable item for the baker.

Susan & Mary looked around in the Fiesta House 

while I gave my aching feet a rest.

They carry the largest selection of Fiestaware in the Midwest.

Before we left we looked around in the Cockrell Annex.

It's full of garden accessories and treasures.

Mary found the perfect coffee cup for her caffeine addiction.

Too bad it won't fit in her suitcase!
