You're a Grand Old Flag
by George M. Cohan
You're a grand old flag,
You're a high flying flag
And forever in peace may you wave.
You're the emblem of
The land I love.
The home of the free and the brave.
Ev'ry heart beats true
'neath the Red, White and Blue,
Where there's never a boast or brag.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
Keep your eye on the grand old flag.
You're a grand old flag,
You're a high flying flag
And forever in peace may you wave.
You're the emblem of
The land I love.
The home of the free and the brave.
Ev'ry heart beats true
'neath the Red, White and Blue,
Where there's never a boast or brag.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
Keep your eye on the grand old flag.
"Wherever there is a grain of loyalty
there is a glimpse of freedom."
~Algernon Charles Swinburne
Happy Flag Day!

My flag is hanging today. Grandma and Grandpa B were married on Flag Day in 1923? Not sure about the year exactly. Ruby was very proud of that fact.
Beautiful! I loved reading all the words to that song. We would sing it in grade school and I want to teach it to Mary.
Happy flag day to you too.
Our flag went out on the front porch first thing this morning :)
By the way..
I made the bread recipe that you posted from Pinterest yesterday.
Must say... it turned out pretty tasty and made delicious BLT's for dinner :)
Oooh, such a nice post...patriotic and true.
