We had our first frost this morning.
I have always liked the phrase,
"The frost in on the pumpkin".

I did a little research on Goggle.
I found this wonderful poem by poet James Whitcomb Riley
( 1849-1916)
A slice of folk Americana.
The Frost Is On The Punkin

The proof is on the pumpkins.... winter is on it's way.
That was so cute,I can see how a mam could feel that way in the autumn.
Yup, that poem says it all---why we love the autumn season. Love your pumkiny/frosty pic!
Thanks for sharing,Joann
Love that phrase, too, but rarely realize it here in our part of AZ. The Man and I were out yesterday, walking around, doing a bit of shopping, & enjoying the fact that it was under 100* -- well, it was 98*, but still! Thank you so much for visiting and following my blog. Hope you have a great weekend!

Did your lovely geraniums survive?
What a great poem ~ a fine tribute to your beautiful frosty "punkins".
Love the poem and the frosty pumpkin. How fun, but so sorry it is getting that cold already. Hugs, Marty
We have had frost here too...my summer flowers are just about gone. It's a shame because they were so pretty!
Thanks for the congrats! It will be exciting when it comes out next year!

We still haven't gotten a frost and I can't believe it! Your picture is perfect! Love the poem too!
That IS a gorgeous photo! It has been an incredibly fast season!
Wonderful poem and image to go with it. We are still in summer and looking forward to fall ... in November maybe??!!! Happy Seasonal Sunday!
We may get our first frost this week. Love the pumpkins with frost on them!
Now I wish it was Autumn over here! The days are starting to get warmer over here and since I really don't like summer at all I'm not very happy! I look forward to reading all of your wintery posts so I can try to cool down!
It's lovely to meet you. I am now following you!
Best wishes,
Natasha.
