Surviving Another Tooth Extraction . . .

Yesterday I had a tooth extraction.
It's the third tooth I've had pulled
in the past 4 years.

My oral surgeon, Dr. Woodward is wonderful.
So kind & comforting.
The amazing thing is I woke up this morning with absolutely no pain!
I hate/love taking pain medication so I'm happy I didn't need
to take a pill this morning.

Too bad I'm too old for the Tooth Fairy!
I have no doubt if she did visit old people
like me she'd leave a $100 bill under
my pillow for the wisdom tooth I lost yesterday!

Welcoming Spring . . .

It was a cold & snowy winter!

I'm so excited that Spring has finally arrived here in Oklahoma!

Seeing this Red bud bloom outside our yard
is always a welcome sight.
Last year on the 1st day of Spring this beauty
was covered with snow.
So glad that didn't happen this year!

I found these cute polka dot bowls at Target
a few weeks ago.
Only $2.50 each!
These colors inspire me to start doing a little
decorating for the new season.
Things on my to do list . . .

I'll share pictures when the Spring touches are complete.

Super Moon . . .

I wasn't sure we'd be able to see the
Super Moon tonight because of
the clouds that have hung around all day,
but we saw it coming up.
This isn't the greatest picture,
but it's the best I could do with my camera.

Beautiful!

Books & Chips . . .

Ethan spent 2 nights at our house the weekend Emma was born.

He loves books.

It's so much fun seeing him learn.

He also loves chips!

My sister saved this little bag from Ace
and filled it with Abuelo's chips.

Yep, I'm afraid he's a chip-a-holic!

Counting My Blessings . . .

The tragic stories and pictures I see on TV
about Japan are so sobering.

I have so much to be thankful for.

One Week Old . . .

We visited Emma last night.

She's one week old and doing very well.
They are working on feeding her from
a bottle instead of a tube through her nose.

The kids are so anxious to take her home.

Kari took this picture of Ethan
looking at Emma in the NICU.
He looks so concerned about his little sister.

Emma Has Arrived . . .

Our granddaughter decided to make an
early appearance yesterday evening.
She was supposed to say hello on April 15,
but she couldn't wait!

She is in the NICU.
Please pray that her stay there won't be long.
5 lbs. 6 oz
18 1/4 inches long

She is so sweet and tiny!

Her hair is dark and curly!
We've never had a baby born in our family with hair!
I can't wait to see her wearing a pink bow!

Random Monday Memories #12 . . .

Our little neighbor girl and her mom came by one
day last week selling Girl Scout cookies.
We bought three boxes.

Notice you only see 2 boxes.
Why, you ask?!?!
Hubby already ate an entire box!

Buying Girl Scout cookies brought back memories of when I was in Scouts.

I was so proud of my uniform.

I remember going door to door by myself
in our neighborhood selling cookies.
Back in those days it was totally safe to be in your
neighborhood by yourself.
My, how times have changed!

When someone bought cookies they received a
sticker like this to place on their
front door window so no one else would try
to sell them cookies.
What a great idea that was!

Happy Birthday
to our grandson, Ethan!

You're a big boy now!

Elmo thinks you will
have lots of fun at your party!

You are so sweet!

You enjoy doing things in your own special way!

Happy Birthday, Ethan!
Papaw & Nana love you very much!

February Thunderstorm . . .

Spring is in the air this morning.

My flag is waving to hurry up
the arrival of springtime.

If you click on the picture to enlarge, you may be able to see the tree is full of buds.

Bye Bye Balloons . . .

The balloons are finally gone from the guest
bathroom sink area!
Another dream come true!

I guess if you're a fan of
vintage hot air balloons you might
like this look.

I tried to like it, but I couldn't make it work.

We were able to reuse the wall plates
by removing the paper and giving them
a good soak in warm water.

Much better!

The color looks different in this picture.

I'm not finished with the redo of this space.
I'll be shopping around the house
to find things that will complete the
new look.

On a more serious note I must give you a praise
report about a scary situation that happened
yesterday. Our daughter-in-law & grandson
were rear ended yesterday afternoon
as they were stopped at a traffic light.
Kari is almost 8 months pregnant.
Of course Ethan was in his car seat in the back seat.
We're giving thanks they were not harmed.
They were both checked out at two different hospitals.
Kari had to be admitted to a room in labor & delivery.
After 4 hours of monitoring she was released.
Praise the Lord for His protection!
