Country/Cottage Style . . .

I've always loved country/cottage style.
It's comfy, cozy & welcoming.
Here's my kitchen table . . .
I'm staying with the red & white theme I used during the holidays.

This country chicken has been part of my kitchen decor for many years.
She's so cute.
I bought these dishes at Target many years ago.
I've been able to find extra plates at flea markets so I now have a total of 15.
We use them every day.
The braided placemats were a Christmas gift from my sister, Mary, this year.
The flatware belonged to my Mother.  They're tarnished, but I like them that way.

My old chippy cupboard . . .
red, white & black
soup spoons
more red checked napkins

  2. I am a "plate-aholic!" I love dishes and have to constantly fight the urge to buy more. I ordered two "wintery" salad plates online---a discontined pattern I found on the Internet. I will post them when they arrive. I love seeing you place setting. My sister had those plates, but hers are faded and mostly gone now. I love them---so colorful and so country! And the red mats are just perfect. I have a lot of "true red" and love it. Nice to see you kept your red check napkins out, too. I'm tryiing to add a little punch to my tiny space. We shall see how it goes. In the meantime, I may steal a few of your ideas here and there---it's the hightest form of flattery, you know:)

  3. Everthing is so cheery and cozy. The silverware looks cool tarnished. I had polished those pieces so many hours growing up. The hen needs a name, maybe Miss Sunnyside, for sunnyside up eggs.

I am guessing you always call it red and never crimson :)

  6. Love everything, Carol! You should post your tablescape on Pinterest. You should make up a Board entitled "My Blog Photos" (I'm saying that cause I have one like that! LOL!). Plus, I will repin your table, or ANYTHING you pin with any of your RED stuff, as I am a 'nut' for red. I am your LOYAL PINTEREST FOLLOWER, SWAMI...
Hey, you see our "RED" repins, no? ;)
    Best,
    Gloria

We make trips to Tulsa to shop. Do you read Brenda's blog Cozy Little House? She lives in Tulsa too. Well...just wanted to say hello. Take care.
