Last Day Of April

I can't believe this is the last day of April.
The day started out dark & rainy.
Now, the sun is shining giving me energy to start on some projects I want to accomplish this week.
I love how the plants look in the morning sun.
It's great to see the bright blue sky & fluffy clouds.

Here's a list of some projects I want to do this week.
* purge & organize the guestroom closet . . .

* make a wreath or basket for the front door . . .
Here are some inspiration ideas from Pinterest.
Loving this green spring wreath!
Garden Basket of Flowers for the Front Door!

* paint my garage sale platter with chalkboard paint . . .

get the chalk board spray paint and paint an old silver tray....*cheap silver trays for sale at the dollar tree!
chalkboard paint on a cute plate - fun menu display!
*  tear out stones around the front yard tree and replace with a round mound of mulch. . .
This will definitely be a weekend project with Hubby!
Hint, hint!

Hope your Monday is the beginning of a wonderful week!

Weekly Words To Live By #98

This is so neat.

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Wishing you a Sunday full of peace. . .

Treasure Hunting

My sweet son, Bobby, went treasure hunting
with me this morning.
Hubby was out of town (with our car)
attending the Bob Wills Day Festival in Turkey, TX.
There were lots of garage sales in our part of town.
I was hoping to score some great treasures.
I was very disappointed with the selection & the prices were very inflated in my opinion.
I did find a few items.
toy tractor ~ 25 cents
pair of red candle holders ~ $2.00
large plastic platter ~ 75 cents
I'm going to paint the center with chalkboard paint &
use it as a message board.

The biggest treasure of the day was spending time with Bobby!
Thanks, son, for being my chauffeur!
Love you!

Shake, Shake, Shake

I have taken on a challenge!
Two weeks ago Bobby & Kari introduced us to a product.
You may have heard of Visalus, a nutritional shake mix.
90 calories
7 grams carbohydrates
5 grams fiber
<1 gram sugar
12 grams protein
full of nutrients

Here is the link to Bobby & Kari's web site.
We decided to sign up to try the shakes.
I have been using it once a day for 9 days
Sometimes for breakfast, but most of the time for lunch.
Delicious!
I have already seen & felt a difference.
Here is the shake I made for lunch yesterday.
I mix it up in my Ninja.
Yesterday's concoction . . .
2 scoops Vi-Shape mix
3 large frozen strawberries
1 tablespoon peanut better
4 ice cubes
1 cup 1% milk
Yummy & satisfying!

I'll update you after I've completed 30 days.

Organized Closet Reveal

Fibber's closet is organized, again!
before
after
 candle shelf
decorative items
&
baskets
Now I know where everything is!
Being organized feels good!

Now I only only have 4 more closets to tackle.
No more this week though, I'm going to take it easy!

Hope you're having a great week!

My Fibber McGee Closet

If you are from my generation you may remember hearing about Fibber McGee's closet.
Believe it or not when I was very very young
 there were still radio shows.
One of them was Fibber McGee & Molly.
Fibber had an infamous closet.
Whenever he opened the door to that closet to look for something, stuff would fall out.
This movie clip from the 1941 (11 years before I was born)
movie,  Look Who's Laughing, shows you his closet.

My project for today is to clean out my Fibber McGee closet!
I clean & organize this closet once or twice a year, but it always seems to end up
looking like this . . .
In this "junk closet" you will find all kinds of stuff.
baskets
candles
decorating items
items for entertaining like this beverage dispenser

Come back tomorrow to see how my purging
and organizing of my junk closet turned out.

Flowers & Greens In Outdoor Spaces

It's chilly & sunny this morning here in NE Oklahoma.
After I slipped on my favorite, warm sweatshirt I spent a few minutes outside taking pictures of the flowers we planted yesterday.

Every year when spring begins I have a hard time deciding which flowers to plant in our front flowerbed.
The area is in full sun so flowers planted there must be hearty.

Hubby & I shopped several places looking for the best bargains.
So many choices!
Ace Hardware
Home Depot

We also stopped by Under the Sun & Lowe's.

We ended up buying our bedding plants at Home Depot because
of the great quality & prices.
miniature zinnias
red verbena
lantana
The front flowerbed also has several nandina bushes & a large holly bush.
I'm anxious to see how this bed looks in a few weeks.
shades of green on the holly bush
green & red colors on nandina bushes
Large pots beside the front step came from
Ace Hardware.
geraniums & some unidentified green plants

geranium & lantana
impatiens
 flourishing ferns

I hope your week is off to a great start!
